Strictly speaking, these are the bones of the neurocranium, which is the upper and back part of the skull. The other part of the skull is the facial skeleton, which has 14 bones. These have names that are either self–evidently part of the face, or can (mainly) be found elsewhere on the Anatomy page. They are the vomer, the mandible, and six pairs of bones: the nasal, lacrimal, palatine and zygomatic bones, the inferior nasal concha, and the maxillae.
